January's already in full swing and yet it also feels as if the year has just begun! In part, that’s because of the giant gas ball of a planet, Saturn. According to Vedic Astrology, Saturn has been in the sign of Capricorn for just about 2 years – pretty much the exact time we’ve been dealing with Covid!
And now it’s getting ready to move into Aquarius, meaning a new 2+ year period is getting launched! Supposedly, this period will be more calm and peaceful than the last one! Phew!
In a way, thinking about this transit is exciting. It makes this January feel even more potent as a fresh start than a regular new year normally does. And it really begs the question, what do you want?
From my limited understanding, the invitation of this Saturn transit is for us to continue our individual and collective work towards greater harmony.
Evidence of these undoing activities are everywhere within our societal systems. Old and outdated ways of being are falling away. And as they do, we can create new and better ways of supporting one another.
On a personal level, what old ways are ready to fall away for you?
One way to think about this is to meditate on a WORD or PHRASE that embodies what you most want to focus your energy on this year.
Choosing a word for the year has been a practice of mine for a decade. I’ve found it incredibly helpful. It creates a theme for my year, a focal point, a place to dive into and deepen my understanding of myself and the world.
And this week is the perfect time to contemplate that word or phrase. Because we’re moving out of this two year period and into a new one.
Have a think, perhaps go for a walk. Allow the word to come to you.
It may have already appeared as you’ve been reading this. Perhaps you have yet to hear it. That’s okay. It will come in its own time. There’s no rush here. Only intention, intention to receive the right and perfect word to be your focal point and overarching theme for 2023.
January really is a wonderful time to vision. So give yourself some time to do just that. Dream into your year, ask for guidance, and listen to what bubbles up
