Is Your God Box Full?

Have you been using your God Box lately?

No?

Are you not even sure what I'm talking about?

No problem!

A God Box is essentially a container of some sort. It can be made from anything you already have such as a mason jar, basket or even a cardboard box.

Mine is a little wooden bowl with a lid that I received as a gift. Here is a picture of it.

Take a minute to scrounge around. I'm sure you have an unused container lying about. If not, save the next cardboard box you get. You can even decorate it if you want!

Once you’ve got a receptacle, write away.

Here’s the idea.

Just grab some scraps of paper.

Write down anything and everything that feels challenging, hard, unsolvable, worrying, or uncertain.

Here are a few examples: climate change, COVID, getting new clients, paying the monthly bills, a loved one's health…

OR

You can write it as a sentence, “Dear God, please help me with __________. Love, _____”

Don’t like the word God? Change it both for your box AND missives.

Use whatever word speaks to you -Goddess, Light, Love, One...

“Dear Love, I need support with _________.”

"Dear Angels, please help me with __________."

Get the idea?

Write down ONE worry, fear, grievance for each scrap of paper.

What happens when the box gets full?

·       Some people store the boxes and make new ones.

·       Some people have a ceremony and burn the paper prayers.

·       Some people put the paper scraps in the compost.

It’s entirely up to you and what feels right for you. This is your practice, so tailor it to fit your needs.

Here’s a picture of my God Box.

Remember to put everything that is vexing you in there! Heck, why not!?!

There is NOTHING God/Love cannot take and help you with.
