Make A Soul Vision Board

Ready to start 2021 off right?

Here’s one of my MUSTS for starting a new year with intention, guidance and inquiry - vision boards.

But this year I have a twist!

I created a new thing- a Soul Vision Board!!!!!

Wanna know more?

But first- did you download the free pdf I sent? If not, you can HERE.

You can even watch this quick video of me explaining a vision board on TV a few years ago, too!

Making vision boards is our family’s New Year’s Eve tradition. Typically, the fireplace roars, the music is blasting, and I’m on the carpet, ripping, cutting and gluing, making a giant mess!

Normally I’m extremely intentional about this project.

I think about the different areas of my life and how/what I want to experience in each- relationships, education, career...

But something happened last year that made me alter how I make vision boards. I learned a NEW COLLAGE TECHNIQUE - SoulCollage®.

SoulCollage® is intuitive, contemplative. You only use imagery (no words). With their technique, you make a set of cards and then read them- eliciting meaning from the images you’ve assembled.

So I decided to adopt this idea, of allowing the journey to take me, rather than control it.

I chose pictures that caught my eye and didn’t worry about finding the “right” word or picture but relaxed into the process, trusting that the ones I found were the RIGHT ONES.

Here’s the important thing- I DIDN'T entirely do the SoulCollage® technique.

I simply TWEAKED how I used to do vision boards.

Here's what to do -

1. Before you begin, take a moment to think about the year ahead.

How do you want to experience 2021? Do you have an overall theme?

2. Relax

Allow yourself to be intuitive as you search for imagery and words. Make the process emotive, metaphoric. Allow the final product to arise from the unconscious, rather than being concrete.

3. Add Words & Anything Else You Want

I did! I also have a little corner of the board that depicts things I still really want (like a ski trip.)

4. Step Back

Once you’ve assembled all the imagery and words together, take a look at the whole board.

What is it telling you about how you want to live your year?

Maybe you could "read" it with another person, they could even take notes for you!

Perhaps what you’ll hear isn’t so much about what you will ACCOMPLISH, instead it’ll be more about how you will EXPERIENCE your everyday life.

How does that sound?

When I looked at mine, I shuddered and the hair on my arms stood up. To me, that indicates POWER.

Here's my final product:

I’m excited to see YOURS and how this new technique influences 2021.
